Create a Prepaid and Rewards Wallet for your store

This solution is designed to help shops create their own prepaid wallet to increase short term cash flow and long term customer retention. Each store has full control of the funds in their business bank account.

This is Rehive’s first solution to help small businesses with short term economic relief while keeping longer-term sustainability in mind.

Situation

Small businesses are under cash flow strain while the world is stalling. If customers don’t act to support local businesses during this time we might lose our favorite restaurants and shops, not to mention many employees will lose their jobs.

Problem

• Businesses are closed and not earning sufficient income to cover expenses.
• Customers do not necessarily want to donate but are willing to make a financial commitment for future purchases.
• Traditional voucher solutions are limited to physical gift cards that are not available while stores are closed.

Solution

• Easily set up a prepaid wallet for one store where customers can load their balance to spend in the future.
• Businesses can generate additional revenue with in-app sales for take-away products if the full menu is not available.
• Customers can easily donate directly from their balance.
• The merchant will have to manage the solution and control the underlying funds.

Who can create a wallet?

• Any shop can create and manage their own Prepaid and Rewards Wallet.

What do you need?

• Existing Stripe account or a business bank account to process deposits.
• Your store branding material.
• Printer to print out a QR code for processing in-store scan-to-pay payments.

How does it work?

1. Customers can download the Rehive App and create an account using your store app ID.
2. Customers can load their balance from the app by making a card payment or a bank transfer.
3. If activated, customers will receive additional rewards points or a cash rebate for loading their balance.
4. Customers will visit your store and scan a QR code to pay.
5. Store managers can verify the payment on the customer device, via SMS notification or by inspecting the merchant app.

Important notes

• Rehive is only providing the ledger and wallet application technology and does not control the actual funds.
• If your business qualifies on Stripe you can import your API credentials to support credit card payments to load funds. Alternatively, you can upload your business bank account details to support manual deposits.
